Bit and Insung, “Alliance of the Fittest”
Comprehensive Business Partnership in u-Healthcare Market
Bit Computer (www.bit.kr) and Insung Information (www.insunginfo.co.kr) announced on August 23, that the two companies have reached an agreement on a “comprehensive partnership” in u-healthcare business.
U-healthcare, or ubiquitous healthcare, is defined as a business based on integration of information and communications technology with medical services, providing a ubiquitous access to healthcare services including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.
The objective of Bit-Insung partnership is to integrate or combine the two companies’ solutions, services, and knowledge, to ultimately develop marketable products in the u-healthcare services market. Each company will focus on their respective core technology, remote healthcare (Bit) and HiCare (Insung), to reinforce the alliance with each other.
The two companies will join hands to develop solutions for various u-healthcare projects including u-CITY, home network, digital healthcare centers, mobile healthcare, home healthcare, etc.
The two companies are already making notable progress, and have been selected to jointly participate in an NIA (National Information Society Agency)-sponsored welfare IT infra project, “integrated u-Healthcare for urban-rural communities” in Chungcheongnam-do.
Mr. Jong-Yoon Won, CEO of Insung Information, comments that “the MOU is especially meaningful since it will open a new window for both companies. Both will benefit from each other, by sharing knowledge and experience in the u-healthcare market,” and expects “a great synergy from this partnership.”
Mr. Jin-Ok Jeon, CEO of Bit Computer, states that “the potentials of the u-healthcare market need no accounting for.” He explains that “the Bit-Insung MOU is important because it is an alliance between the two strongest players in the market,” emphasizing that “the objectives are to grow together by helping each other to become more competitive, and to promote the positive growth of the industry as a whole.”
Under its HiCare brand, Insung Information is providing mobile diabetes monitoring service to SKT and KTF subscribers, and HiCare Dr-U service to various corporations including Daewoong Pharmaceutical, Shinhan Bank, and GS E&C. The company also provides solutions for visiting nurse homecare services for 16 public healthcare centers.
Selected as the solution provider for U-Health projects again this year, Insung Information is the industry leader in both private and public sectors.
Bit Computer is providing remote healthcare services to remote islands and isolated facilities, including Shinan Islands, Anyang Penitentiary, Anyang Metro Hospital, Army Hospital, Army frontline units, Navy medical corps, Ansan public healthcare centers, and 4 hospitals in Ukraine. The company has also participated as the solution provider for U-CITY and other u-healthcare projects in Korea and other countries.
