Insung and NanoEnTek Join Hands in u-Healthcare

– Insung and NanoEnTek sign an MOU of partnership in u-healthcare
– Partnership to provide home healthcare, chronic illness management, and u-healthcare services in Korea and around the world

Insung Information (www.insunginfo.co.kr) and NanoEnTek (www.nanoentek.com) announced on June 1, that the two companies signed an MOU to jointly develop and provide home healthcare and u-healthcare services. As the first step, NanoEnTek will supply FREND, a point-of-care (POC) cancer diagnostic device, to Insung’s “Healthcare for the Underprivileged” project at public health centers. Insung is a leading provider of u-healthcare solutions, and NanoEnTek is a manufacturer of cutting edge medical equipment.
Based on the MOU, Insung and NanoEnTek will join hands in research and marketing for home health care, chronic illness management, and u-healthcare services in Korea and other countries. The two companies also agreed on a privilege-partnership in their future u-healthcare projects, which means they will preferentially adopt technologies and products from each other.
The most notable is the anticipated synergy of NanoEnTek’s FREND, a POC technology that is essential in u-healthcare services, and Insung’s unique solutions of chronic illness management system featuring at-home monitoring and patient-doctor communication.
Mr. Jun-Guen Jang, CEO of NanoEnTek, states that “NanoEnTek will greatly benefit from the partnership with Insung, which will perfect the company’s business models in home healthcare services based on cutting-edge POC devices.” He expects that the partnership will provide “a new, effective platform of u-healthcare, built on BT-IT conversion technology,” and that the companies will jointly develop “a practical revenue model, combining Insung’s home healthcare solutions focusing on chronic illnesses and NanoEnTek’s diagnostics and management technology covering hospitals and healthcare facilities of all scales.”
Mr. Jong-Yoon Won, CEO of Insung Information, states that “Insung will aggressively expand its business in Korea and around the world, based on its next-generation healthcare models and with the help of the partnership with NanoEnTek.”
According to Siemens Healthcare Diagnosis, u-healthcare market based on POC technology is rapidly growing. POC devices took up 15% of the world’s healthcare market in 2002, but are expected to reach 60% in 2015.
With the new trend of Digital Clinic in Korea, Insung-NanoEnTek partnership and their business models of home healthcare and chronic illnesses management are at the center of the industry’s attention.
